About John French
|
John French is passionate about slipcovers! He has been professionally designing slipcovers for over
10 years. Slipcovers are not only practical and affordable if you make
them yourself, but they are an intentional design element. Slipcovers bring a sense of
subliminal comfort into a room. Slipcovers do NOT have to look like upholstery...
Some of John's best work has been capturing that look of "intentional impermanence" or "savvy chic."

You do not need to be a seamstress to understand John's methods. John French has never sewn a single piece of clothing.
When he began years ago, he could not even thread a sewing machine! Truly a testimony to the simplicity of the DIY Slipcover Videos.
"FEAR NOT YOUR SEWING MACHINE" Home sewing is so much easier than people think. Over 90% of the sewing
involved in making slip covers is simple straight stitching. You can create so much with the most basic of sewing skills!
John warns that once a student grasps the basic fundamentals of slipcovering, they will naturally want to branch out their
skills and abilities because it is no longer foreign to them... it becomes FUN!!!
For two years, John enthusiastically taught slipcovering at MB Sewing Enterprises in Mesa, Arizona. John's enthusiasm
most contagious with this home decorating vehicle, DIY Slipcovers.
John has additionally participated in slipcovering seminars at the Slipcover University with Pat Reese
and at the Professional Drapery Workroom School in Ashville, N.C. He is also a member of of the Slipcover Network.
John French has been featured in the "Center Spotlight" at the Ethan Allen Showroom, Scottsdale, Arizona.
He has done work for multitudes of Dallas’ top designers.
